about
English/Spanish:
this is a song inspired by the contradictory feelings I as a Mexican have for the USA. I’ve had great experiences there, I sing in both English and Spanish, and the work of many American thinkers and artists is a part of who I am. But I have seen the racism, the social injustice and the interventionist, imperialist government policies that have affected so many people around the world, including my country. I wonder what will they say about the USA in a thousand years...
Thanks for listening.

Me pregunto qué dirán sobre EUA dentro de mil años...
Gracias por escuchar.
lyrics
What will they say in a thousand years?
When your days are gone, what will books read?
When the world is on fire
I want to know what you're up to
And I want to see how you get out of this
I want to think that you can change
But the truth is deep inside we're all
American dreamers
I wonder what's left to take
American dreamer
I wonder if America will one day see its end
You want, it's done, you're gone
You take, you use, dispose
Everyone is fighting for their right to have the upper hand
Everyone is fighting for their right to be the only one
I want to know what you're up to
And I want to see how you get out of this
I want to think that you can change
But the truth is deep inside we're all
American dreamers
I wonder what's left to take
American dreamer
I wonder if America will one day see its end
You want, it's done, you're gone
You take, you use, dispose
Everyone is fighting for their right to have the upper hand
Everyone is fighting for their right to be the only one
American dreamer
I wonder what's left to take
American dreamer
I wonder if America can take all the American dreamers
I wonder what's left to take
American dreamer
But don't forget not everything is lost
